de Leon to be Honored for Book Publication
In November of this year, the government of Argentina, through the Instituto Nacional Newberiano (similar to the Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian) awarded de Leon the Orden Newberiana Medal because his book was the first written regarding the Argentina space program.
That Instituto, which depends on the patronage of the President of Argentina, also made him a Member of Honor.

He has been the principal investigator for the NDX-1 and NDX-2 space suits and for two spacecraft simulators. And he lectures frequently in courses regarding human spaceflight. His research at UND has led to the presentation of numerous papers at national and international conferences.
A copy of his book is available at Chester Fritz Library.
