Pablo de Leon and John Polansky both had papers on their NDX-1 space suit research accepted by the Tenth International Mars Society Convention in Los Angeles in late August. Polanksy is an undergraduate student in mechanical engineering at UND and a recipient of a Space Grant research fellowship. Unfortunately, neither de Leon or Polansky could attend. But de Leon's paper, "NDX-1 Planetary Space Suit Tests during Spaceward Bound Crew 61," was presented by Alex Diaz, a distance student in Space Studies and an employee of Boeing in L.A. Polansky's paper, "Liquid Cooling Garment for the Mars Planetary Space Suit," was presented by Jon Rask, a graduate of the Department of Space Studies and now a senior researcher at Ames Research Center.
