ND Space Grant Constortium Receives Grant to Promote STEM Education
The North Dakota Space Grant Consortium (NDSGC) recently received a grant of $430,000 for the year 2014-15 from NASA to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in North Dakota through a variety of outlets. Some of these include "hands on" student projects, scholarships and fellowships for students, summer internships at NASA centers, and faculty seed research awards. The NDSGC is a statewide program and all public two and four-year colleges and universities North Dakota, as well as some informal education institutions, are members of the consortium. Dr. Santhosh Seelan, Chair of the Department of Space Studies at UND, is the Director for the NDSGC.
