"Space on the Prairie" in Bismarck hosted by ND Space Grant
The North Dakota Legislature is in session, so on February 7, the Department of Space Studies and the North Dakota Space Grant Consortium put up space displays in the Great Hall of the State Capitol in Bismarck. Entitled “Space on the Prairie,” the posters and handouts advertised NASA activities in the state.
Each legislator received printed information about Space Grant and an image of North Dakota taken from the Space Shuttle. Governor Jack Dalrymple graciously stopped by to look over the space displays.
Pictured here are: Sharlette Seelan (wife of Dr. Seelan); Dr. Santhosh Seelan (director of the North Dakota Space Grant Consortium and chair of the Department of Space Studies); Jack Dalrymple (governor of North Dakota) ; Josh Berk (graduate student in Space Studies); Marissa Saad (graduate student in Space Studies); and Suezette Rene Bieri (deputy director of the North Dakota Space Grant Consortium). They are standing in front of the Great Seat of the State of North Dakota which is located next to the Senate and House of Representatives chambers.
