Grad student Shkolyar winner of 2010 Goddard Memorial Scholarship
Space Studies graduate student, Svetlana Shkolyar has been selected as the 2010 winner of the Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Scholarship awarded by the National Space Club. This award is given annually to a university upperclassman with definite plans to pursue studies in science or engineering. The Scholarship’s purpose is to stimulate the interest of talented students in the opportunity to advance scientific knowledge through space research and exploration. She was selected by a panel of experts led by Mr. Jeffrey Morrow, and the Committee’s citation for her read:
“For her continued education in Astrobiology towards understanding the evolution of life via geochemical processes on Earth, in the Solar System and in the Universe.”
This Scholarship provides a one-time grant of $10,000. Congratulations!
