Josh Berk, graduate student in Space Studies, served as an intern this summer in the Office of the Chief Technologist at NASA Headquarters. Berk helped support office operations by working with the communications department to build outreach and educational resources for the broader dissemination of space technologies and their Earthly benefits. His internship also included a fair amount of “field research,” attending conferences, committee meetings and legislative session on and around Capitol Hill. He compiled reports, summarized relevant information and made recommendations when appropriate. He experienced first hand the policy and operational details that contribute to making major space operations successful.
