Space Life Sciences Lab
Started in 2004, the Space Studies Space Life Sciences Laboratory is located in room 370 of Clifford Hall. Equipment include low pressure chambers to grow plants in modified environments such as reduced pressures, different atmospheric compositions, varying levels of illumination, etc. which provide capabilities for research in the following areas:
The Department of Space Studies is collaborating with the following UND departments in support of these research efforts: Biology, Chemistry, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and the School of Medicine. The research projects carried out in this lab are being developed in close coordination with NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
