During the academic year 2012, the students, faculty, and staff of the Department of Space Studies celebrated the 25th anniversary of our master’s degree program.
Bob Cary of Aerospace Network recently produced this wonderful video about the department to commemorate our 25 years of service to graduate-level space education. The video captures the history of the department, and our core values and strengths in an interesting way.
I want to thank Bob, our staff, current and former faculty, current and former students, and numerous others who made this video possible. Enjoy this 27 minute Magic on the High Plains!

Space……Not Just for Astronauts
The UND Space Studies degrees are your best choice when preparing for a career in the space industry.
Our Master of Science and Ph.D. programs are multi-disciplinary and include disciplines such as planetary science, space engineering, life support systems, space policy and law, space history and space-related aspects of business and management. Unlike a typical aerospace engineering degree, the Space Studies degrees provide the student with the broader background necessary to understand the linkages between engineering, space science, and policy.
Space Studies graduates are well-prepared to lead space exploration and development
of space activities in all facets of the exciting future of the space industry.
